Who We Are?
Stand N Stride” is a Not for Profit organization in India, uniting socially enthusiastic individuals from diverse backgrounds who share a common commitment to social responsibility. Inspired by Swami Vivekananda and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the organization embodies their vision for the betterment of children, youth, and the nation. Over the years, “Stand N Stride” has translated this vision into tangible change, positively impacting countless lives.
Established in 2016 by passionate individuals in Delhi, “Stand N Stride” initially registered under the Societies Registration Act in 2017. In January 2020, it transitioned to the Company Act, becoming the “Stand N Stride Foundation,” dedicated to greater transparency and management excellence. Operating throughout India with a registered office in Delhi, its current focus is on South West Delhi.
What Makes Stand N Stride Different?
In India, nearly 8 million children are denied access to education, enduring a daily struggle with poverty, illness, and despair. Many young people across the country are left without direction, unaware of the potential within them that remains untapped. “Stand N Stride” seeks to address these critical challenges by guiding and empowering youth, transforming their energy and potential into constructive paths through education and self-development.
The organization is built on the belief that lasting, meaningful change is possible only when civil society is involved in the development process. Embracing a Civic-Driven Change model, “Stand N Stride” actively engages communities, encouraging individuals and groups to participate in their mission. By raising awareness and promoting involvement, the organization ensures that civil society becomes a vital partner in every step of their welfare initiatives.

Mr. Amod Poddar, born in Patna, is an Aircraft Engineer and founder of Stand N Stride. Inspired by Swami Vivekananda and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, he established the organization in 2016 with his wife, Mrs. A K Vijayalaxmi, to educate underprivileged children. He is active in various social causes.
Mrs. A K Vijayalaxmi, co-founder of Stand N Stride, hails from Bhagalpur, Bihar. After completing her M.Sc and M.Ed, she cleared the CTET in 2014. Inspired by her husband’s vision to educate underprivileged children, she co-founded Stand N Stride in 2016, setting aside her professional teaching aspirations.
Beginning her career in 1978 with NAHIDCO and Ansals, she thrived in administration and marketing before shifting to education. After 15 years at LA Montessori as Vice Principal, she received the Shikshak Shri Award. She joined Stand N Stride in 2016, dedicated to educating underprivileged children.
Dr. Saroj Gulati, originally from Rajpura, Punjab, earned her B.Com and M.Com from Punjab University before joining Haryana Education Services. After a 36-year career, she retired as a professor in 2015. Relocating to Delhi, she committed to social causes and has been a key contributor to Stand N Stride since 2018.
