What truly sets SNS apart is its team of volunteer mentors. The majority are retired professionals—including doctors, insurance specialists, botanists, and even aeronautics experts. Stand N Stride (SNS) NGO demonstrates a remarkable commitment to holistic community development, driven by an inspiring team of mentors. My experience during the Design Thinking reflective journey highlighted their core strengths and the depth of their programs. Exceptional Strengths • The Backbone: Highly Skilled Mentors: The organization’s foundation is its mentors, who are largely retired professionals, including doctors, and experts from fields like insurance and aeronautics. Their dedication is evident in how they teach and operate in a structured, inspiring way. • Comprehensive Programs: SNS runs several impactful initiatives: • Pathshala (Remedial Classes): Providing remedial classes to underprivileged children and integrating students who have never attended school into MCD schools. The Ambrahi Pathshala in Sector 19 is one of their active centers. • Women Empowerment (SHE): Teaching independent skills to mothers and organizing micro-commerce income generation projects (like Diwali Diya stalls). • Social Support: Going beyond financial aid to offer counseling for domestic violence, teaching women how to overcome these situations. • Fostering Aspiration: Interactions with students were deeply rewarding. Children like Rahul, who aims to be an IAS officer, and girls like Khushi and Sneha, who aspire to be doctors, show the organization’s success in nurturing ambitions. Key Takeaway & Innovation (Design Thinking) The most insightful experience was the Cultural Probe activity. We used visual prompts (like 'A House,' 'A Heart,' 'An Injection,' 'A Book') to understand their concepts of security, value, health, and education. This led to the key realization that many students felt a sense of inferiority compared to other students. Based on this, our team developed innovative solutions: 1. Attendance Passport: A gamified physical booklet using stickers for daily attendance to encourage regularity and create a "pride point". 2. Symbiotic Space Proposal: To solve the critical need for an indoor space during rain, we proposed a Value Exchange Model. Since many mentors are retired doctors, the NGO could sign an MoU with an RWA/Community Hall, offering free monthly health check-up camps in exchange for guaranteed access to the hall. Stand N Stride is an exceptional organization to volunteer with. The clarity of their mission, the dedication of their team, and their openness to new ideas make them a highly recommended organization for anyone looking to contribute to social good.Posted on Aromal G NadhTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
